Meet The Team: Girls Leadership

imagesWe have previously introduced you to Maintenance, Food Service, Medical, and Transportation, in the next installment of our Meet The Team blogs, it’s time to introduce you to the Girls Leadership Team for summer 2015!

Cinnamon

Cinnamon Green (Stepping Stones 2s/3s)Cinnamon graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas College with a Batchelor’s Degree in Education with a major in Special Education and a minor in Psychology. Cinnamon also holds two Masters certificates, one Masters of Arts in Teaching with a minor in Reading and also a Masters in Educational Leadership and Technology. She started her teaching career by working with infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers with special needs. She has been teaching in the public schools for 14 years and currently works in the Merrick School District as a Special Education Teacher. Throughout her career she has worked with summer youth employment camps, and both sleep-away and day camps, including the The Girl Scouts of America.  She is currently working on her PhD in Literacy. Cinnamon cannot wait to show our 2 and 3 year olds a fun, compassionate and caring summer!

Carol PrismatCarol Prismat (Stepping Stones 4s) – Carol has spent the majority of her adult life working with children of all ages.  She worked as a summer camp (sleep-away) supervisor for nearly twenty years. During the Winter season, she is employed as a middle school English teacher at a prestigious Gold Coast private school on Long Island. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Literature. In her spare time, and for the past 30 years, Carol teaches theater and directs regional theater throughout Long Island.

KaitlinKaitlin Steyert (Girls 5-7 years) – A native of Sag Harbor, Kaitlin brings a wealth of camping experience that will really excite our K through 2nd grade girls this summer.  Having previously spent 4 summers working as a counselor and senior counselor at our sister camp in East Hampton, Hampton Country Day Camp, Kaitlin is excited for the step up to Head Counselor at South.  Kaitlin has obtained a Batchelor’s Degree in History and a Masters in Elementary Education from Quinnipiac University, CT. She currently works as an elementary teacher in Connecticut.

DanaDana Sndstrom (Girls 8-11 years) – Dana grew up on the East End of Long Island and cannot wait to get started for her first summer in Southampton.  She oozes fun and the 8-11 year old girls are in for a great summer!  Dana is a certified Teacher’s Assistant, holds a Batchelor’s Degree in Human Relations, and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. Dana is getting married the week before camp starts to finance, Paul, and currently lives with him, their cat, Sebastian, in Riverbed, NY. She currently works in the Westhampton Beach school district during the year as a school counselor.

cindy-davidowitzCindy Davidowitz (Director) Cindy begins her second summer as Director, and is excited to head Stepping Stones and Girls side at camp. Cindy has been an Elementary Principal for the last 13 years, and been a teacher for 23 years on the South Shore of Long Island.  Cindy holds a number of Masters Degrees in her field, and cannot wait for summer #2.  Cindy has plenty of experience in camping, and previously worked at our sister camp, Tyler Hill, as a girls Head Counselor.  Cindy has  three grown up children, two of which still work at Tyler Hill, and one who is an Actress/Theater facilitator & Author.

And a special mention to…..

Juilette-e1429470858162-276x600Juliette Ernst (Aquatics Director) – Juliette returns to Southampton for her second year, having been our Stepping Stones 4s Head Counselor last year.  Juliette moves to a very familiar role of Aquatics Direct to head our pool and Instructional Swim program.  Juliette has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics & Statistics and has spent the last 9 years as an elementary Math service provider on the South shore of Long Island.  Juliette has a large background in teaching youngsters to swim privately and through the YMCA, and is excited to get involved in this at camp.  Juliette is a qualified Health & Fitness Instructor for adolescents, and is also an American Red Cross First Aid, CPR & AED instructor for both the Professional Rescuer and Lay Responders. Everyone will be in safe hands with Juliette on guard!

Sam ESamantha Erck (Head of Arts) – Sam is an enthusiastic art educator that is eager to work with artists of all ages. She currently holds a Batchelor’s Degree in Fine Art, and a Master’s Degree in Art Education.  Sam is experienced in engaging and teaching toddlers & elementary children through her private art education classes with Private Picassos. As a professional artist & elementary school art teacher in the William Floyd school district, Samantha specializes in drawing, illustration and painting. This will be Sam’s second summer at SRCC and cannot wait to get going with Arts & Crafts, summer 2015!
