You’ve met our Maintenance Team and Food Service Team as part of our series of ‘Meet the Team’ blogs.  Now it’s time to meet our Health Center staff and Head Nurse, Carol!

Carol, Head Nurse: Originally from Valley Stream in Long Island, Carphotool graduated with her nursing degree from Nassau Community College and is currently a New York State registered Nurse.  Carol has an extensive background in nursing, particularly in school and camp settings, and is also a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor teaching CPR & First Aid to the general public.  Carol has worked with children of all ages, and specializes in pediatrics and elementary school aged children – perfect for camp! She is currently the school nurse at Boardman Elementary School in Oceanside, NY.

Carol has worked in the camping field, and in particular the Timber Lake Family of Camps since 2006.  Carol previously worked as one of the Nurses at North Shore Day Camp for four summers before moving on to being the head nurse at TLC’s innovative teen sports & art program in East Hampton.

Carol is very excited to join the team at SRCC.  She is a firm believer in our Mission to ‘teach children the skills of making and keeping friends, while building their self-confince, self-esteem, and resilience‘ and will always do her best to make sure all of our campers (and staff) are safe and healthy.

Carol lives with her husband in Long Island and has two adult children.

Welcome to the team, Carol, we know our campers will be in safe hands!
