Making Those Camp Favorite Lunches & Snacks Healthy!
With only 127 days until camp we have been busy preparing our summer menu. With a big commitment to healthy, nutritious, and tasty food, it really has been great coming up with new and exciting ways to make those camp favorite lunches & snacks all the better for you. A balanced meal plan will mean more energy to have FUN day in and day out at SRCC.
Its been great sampling new foods, and we are very excited to be creating a nutritionally balanced menu that we know all of our staff, campers, and parents will love! We’ve started by selecting the main meals that campers love, modifying them by purchasing both fresh and locally-sourced ingredients, and adding tasty vegetable & salad sides to each. We are also proud to say that all food is oven baked. We do not own fryers!
Chef Greg has been very creative in developing freshly made salads & pasta sauces which we know will fit in well with our extensive said & deli bar and multi-grain pasta station. We will also be making sure that we have a range of organic yogurts and a selection of freshly cut fruit for dessert. Add these to Spirt Day BBQ Wednesdays and Special Event Pizza Fridays, we think you’ll agree that this summer’s menu promises to be our best yet. Our search for new & exciting meals never ends.
Don’t forget our famous Special Event Days! We have an exciting selection of fun foods that will match those days, from red, white and blue “firecracker” ice snacks on our July 2nd Star Spangled Banner Day, or our scary treats on ‘Trick or Treat’ day, to our upside-down cupcakes for upside-down, back to front day. We have it all.
We always do our best to accommodate the special dietary needs of our campers and staff. Kosher & vegetarian alternatives are always available and we are well prepared to deal with a range of allergies, such strawberries, mustard, dairy, and many more.
