Elliot Pegg will be returning as the Director of Tennis for the 2019 club program at Southampton Racquet Club for his 6th year. Elliot is a graduate of Oxford Brookes University, UK, and an accomplished player and Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) certified coach. His tennis background in the UK includes 5 years with David Lloyd Leisure in Ringwood and Oxford, as well as tennis camp experience in the US with Nike Tennis Camps and Carmel Valley Tennis Camp. Elliot joined Cliff Drysdale Tennis in 2012 and worked at several award-winning resorts, clubs and camps (Stratton Mountain, VT, Red Ledges Club, UT and Amelia Island, FL) before taking on the Director position at Southampton in 2015 and a Regional Director position in 2019.
Luke currently competes at the Division II collegiate level in the US. Growing up in Auckland, New Zealand, Luke pursued college tennis as a way to continue his passion in the USA, and have a change of scenery while living in New York. Luke regularly competed in tournaments from the time he was 12, and after years of training and competing at local, and regional tournaments; he progressed to National tournaments, team events, and ITF competitions around New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific Islands. This is Luke’s fourth summer in Southampton, having enjoyed the previous three summers, he is eager to begin his fourth. Luke regularly runs weekday clinics, many lessons at the club, as well as traveling to client’s private courts to perform lessons.
Andrej is originally from Belgrade, Serbia and has been practicing tennis since he was 9 years old. He has competed in all international junior categories (ETA and ITF) and achieved top 10 national rankings. Andrej is currently a junior at Alabama State University and he is also a member of the tennis team, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and the Honors program. The summer of 2020 will be Andrej’s third year at the Southampton Racquet Club after a very successful 2019 season.
Johnnie Carmichael is originally from the UK. He has spent his last 2 years competing at University of North Dakota. Johnnie is Level 2 accredited LTA coach and has a great passion for the game. Johnnie is a Finance and Investments student at University of North Dakota and is looking to pursue his MBA in the future.
Ana currently competes at the Division I collegiate level in North Carolina. She is from Venezuela and decided to come to the USA to continue playing high level tennis while also getting an academic education. Ana has been playing tennis sisnce she was 5 years old. She represented her country 6 times in a row in Southamerica, and she was number one ranked nationally in every category she played. She played several ITF in Venezuela and other Latin American countries before coming to the US. This will be Ana’s first summer in Southampton, after spending the past two summers working with Cliff Drysdale as well in Stratton Mountain, Vermont.
Originally from Germany, Lukas Buth will be joining our team this summer. In May, Lukas graduated with his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota where he also played 3 years of tennis. He is a Level 2 accredited LTA coach and has been teaching both individual lessons and group lessons for 7 years in his hometown, Kaiserslautern. With his enthusiasm for the sport and his experience teaching all levels, Lukas is excited to be joining the Cliff Drysdale community.
