Unplugged At Camp: Why Devices Should Be Limited

We have previously shared with you Steve Jobs’ thoughts on the use of handheld devices where he shared that he was very much a ‘low tech parent’. 

Now, research conducted by The American Academy of Pediatrics and The Canadian Society of Pediatrics, suggests that infants aged 0-2 years should not have any exposure to technology, children 3-5 years be restricted to one hour per day, and children 6-18 years restricted to 2 hours per day. The article, published in the Huffington Post, cites Delayed Development, Obesity, Sleep Deprivation, and Aggression as possible side effects of over exposure to technology at a young age.  At camp, we are proud to to remind you that we are 100% ‘technology free’!
